How EFT Works - An Explanation For The Enlightened Lightworker

You may be familiar with Yoga, Reiki, or Tai Chi. These are all based on the body´s energy, helping to balance your energy. When this energy is balanced, the mind and body can be strong and function at their optimal best. Imagine when balancing your energy that you can concentrate this balancing on one very powerful point, and be

able to direct the healing precisely to where you want it. This is EFT. With EFT, we stimulate the acupressure meridians by tapping on them with our fingers whilst repeating a releasing mantra.

EFT is based on the the Discovery Statement, which is that the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system. Fix that disruption, and you can release the associated negative emotions. These are only held in place by an energy disruption, so when that is gone, the same memory or trigger that used to make you feel uncomfortable will no longer have any power over you, and you will be truly free from it. EFT also somehow affects the physical, especially since our mind, body, and spirit are so closely connected.

It is the wording along with the acupressure that makes the difference with EFT. The energy disruption may be dormant under the surface or lost amongst so many other energy disruptions. The wording gently brings the energy disruption that we need to work on up to the surface for release. And then the tapping releases this disruption. This release can bring your mind, body, and spirit back to balance and harmony with respect to that issue.

EFT may initially seem too much, as it feels somewhat busier than meditation, for example. It may also seem silly, since we tap on points on the face as well as others. However, it is such a good way of releasing stuck old energy that it is well worth learning it and trying it for yourself.

If you are already an enlightened lightworker, you can adapt EFT to work with what you already do and take its application even further. You can learn EFT for yourself by attending workshops and courses. Or you can learn an introduction to EFT by downloading a free guide from many sources on the internet, try it out on any emotional annoyance or current physical discomfort you can think of, and see for yourself how it feels. I personally combine EFT with Reiki and other energy healing modalities, especially when it comes to my own self-healing, and the effect is very powerful.

How EFT Works - An Explanation For The Layman

EFT, short for Emotional Freedom Techniques, is a new method for letting go of negative emotions and physical conditions that have an emotional element. Up to 85% of physical conditions are said to have an emotional element, so basically, EFT can help with almost any emotional or physical condition.

EFT may initially look strange, compared to psychotherapy or physiotherapy, for example. And computers, when they first started being available, must have looked strange compared to a typewriter or an abacus. But now there is a computer in every home in the developed world, and they are a normal part of everyday life. Can you imagine suddenly being without computers in your home or workplace, in hospitals, and all the other places that you depend on in your daily life? Or without internet or email? EFT works so relatively quickly and efficiently on any emotional and many physical conditions, that to regular EFTers, it is just normal. We even wonder how we ever used to manage before we learned EFT. It really can totally change your life. And because you can use it on yourself, you are not necessarily dependent on a practitioner to help you, which is very empowering.

With EFT, we stimulate certain easy-to-reach acupressure points by tapping on them with two fingers whilst repeating certain words. The combination of words and acupressure results in a release of negative emotions, such as fear, anger, shame, guilt, despair, helplessness, hopelessness, limiting beliefs, self-destructive feelings (leading to self-destructive behavior), tension (which also tenses up our muscles), and just about any emotion that you need to let go of. This sometimes can be done in minutes. The emotions get let go of in stages, or layers, so the more layers you have, the longer it is likely to take. However, EFT in my experience works faster and more efficiently than hypnosis, NLP, psychotherapy, or counselling.

Some systems such as the Allergy Antidotes system also use EFT for helping with physical problems, such as allergy-like reactions, viruses, bacteria, and fungi that are bothering your body, and persistent musculo-skeletal imbalances.

EFT kind of works by throwing away the energy disruption in your mind-body that is causing the unwanted feelings. Just like with your rubbish bin. You throw away the rubbish from your bin in the collection bins outside, and then the refuse collectors come and take it all away. The words used is like gathering your rubbish and taking it to the bins outside, and the tapping is like the refuse collectors taking it away.

You can learn EFT for yourself by downloading a free guide or watching free videos from many sources on the internet. You can also attend a workshop, or you can get stuck right in and use the services of an experienced practitioner.

Smoking Triggers To Tap On With EFT

Friday, January 21, 2011

By Suzanne Zacharia
Are you looking to stop smoking with EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques)? If so, it is good to write down a list of when you are most vulnerable to smoking triggers. When are your moments where your guard is down?

Everyone is different, so here are some triggers that I have come across. I hope they help give you ideas of where to start for your smoking triggers tapping.

For most 20-a-day or more smokers, a big one is first thing in the morning. And a hard time is often after breakfast when there is a need to go to toilet. With some ex-smokers-to-be, it is when needing to go to the toilet and having skipped breakfast, also another tappable issue. And for most smokers regardless of how much they normally smoke, a night out with friends can be a problem. The biggest downfall being alcohol, which can trigger cravings badly, as it is not unusual for a smoker to chain smoke with freely-flowing alcohol. After a meal is another common trigger, as if the satiety button in your system depends on a cigarette in order to switch it on. This is followed closely by having a cup of tea or coffee.

At the office is another smoking trigger. You may be used to having three or four cigarette breaks a day, maybe with other smoking comrades or as time on your own away from it all. Some offices even allow smoking in some countries, and that can make it even more of a trigger to be in the office. Stress at work is another common trigger, with specific events like a particular phone call or a particular colleague, boss, or staff member that triggers cravings. After getting off public transport or whilst driving is another one. And strangely enough, playing golf, billiards, having a good session at the gym, or any other sport, is the one time where some ex-smokers have really struggled.

Some recent ex-smokers get cravings when they get an odd sensation in the mouth sometimes, kind of like a metal taste which feels they need something in their mouth. Others get a feeling in the throat or stomach that used to be settled with cigarettes. Again, all these are tappable should they occur.

For those smokers who do not sleep well, it is times when they are awake during the night that are a big trigger. If that is the case with you, it is good to tap on reasons why you are awake during the night, or to work with an experienced practitioner.

I hope this gives you some ideas. Make a list of your triggers and tap on them one by one till they are all zero. If they come up again for you, there may be aspects which were missed the first time around, so tap on them again. Imagine how great you will feel when everything is finally a complete zero!

The Simple EFT Tapping Sequence For Mind And Body

Thursday, January 20, 2011

By Grace VanBuren
Have you heard about the newest therapy that is being practiced for the instant relief from mental disorders as well as physical disorders? It's called EFT which stands for Emotional Freedom Technique. This is a therapy that is based on the knowledge of acupuncture and results of using positive affirmations. The marriage of

the two has been gaining more respect as of late with the medical field as well as lay people. The most powerful component of the technique is that the EFT tapping sequence can be done by anyone at any time. After a bit of practice one could do it driving in the car, walking on the beach or anywhere when they feel they need some relief.

Although it may look a bit strange at first the EFT tapping sequence is simple and can be taught to anyone including the elderly and children. You simply tap on certain points on the face and body lightly with your index and middle finger. You can begin by just tapping the specific points down the body. After you have mastered the points then you can begin to speak the certain affirmations that aid in healing process. These would be statements like "I am always safe...I am always secure".

There are many different tapping scripts available online as well as sites that have videos on them where you simply follow along with the coach. These types of sites can be extremely beneficial when you are just getting started. A lot of people worry that they are not saying the right thing at the right time after getting the points figured out. That's where the free videos on youtube can come in handy. Just do a search for EFT and there are specific videos for depression, anxiety or pain relief.

The possibilities for this therapy are endless and the results have been quite dramatic. Some of the best know EFT therapy has been with war veterans suffering from a myriad of different ailments. Some of these men have been suffering from rage, depression, headaches, tremors and physical pain. After a few sessions with a coach these men have reported relief from symptoms that have plagued their lives for years. The vets have found relief from insomnia, road rage and debilitating anxiety to name a few.

The pioneer of this research is Gary Craig who also offers a few E-book to download over the internet. The book explains the EFT tapping sequence as well as the benefits of the therapy. His website is full of helpful materials and there is a list of practicing practitioners across the country. This is a magnificent resource for anyone interested in utilizing this therapy. Just as psychotherapy revolutionized the world of mood disorders, this therapy can bring relief of all kinds of pain to millions in a much simpler and less painful way.

Break Through Inner Resistance To Your Success

Wednesday, January 19, 2011

By Suzanne Zacharia
So many people feel stuck in the same old problem. Maybe they have been trying to make more money and somehow there is always a limit stopping them from moving further. Or perhaps they keep repeating the same unhappy patterns in love and relationships. Some people contact me with an emotional or physical condition that

just would not shift. They may have seen excellent practitioners, therapists, and coaches, but still, they have the challenge to deal with. It often seems like there is no hope and can be very frustrating. The biggest source of frustration is that the person would be doing everything they can to get over this hurdle and totally committed, so they cannot understand why there is this internal block stopping them.

With EFT, or Emotional Freedom Techniques, this block is called Psychological Reversal. It is a state where you want to move forward, but your energy is holding you back. Usually, this psychological reversal is easy to treat with every time you do the EFT procedure. However, in some cases, this simple treatment is not enough. With trial and error, I have found three solutions to this kind of stubborn block.

1. The Sentinel negotiation. Most stubborn blocks is because part of you sees harm in moving forward and blocks you from doing so. As strange as it may seem, this is because part of you is protecting you. The idea of the Sentinel is one derived from NLP, and I find that once the negotiation is complete, then that block is no longer needed and your Sentinel protector simply removes it and lets you move on to your success. For example, you may want to have more money, but your Sentinel thinks that if you does, you will be taken advantage of by someone and treated badly by them, so it stops you dead in your tracks every time you come near to realizing that goal. Or maybe you want to meet a love partner, but your Sentinel is afraid that if you do, you will have children and treat them as badly as your mother or father treated you; so your Sentinel will do anything to stop you from having a stable relationship. Also, resistant phobias and addictions are notorious for having an element of protection stopping you from moving forward. If you have a fear or anxiety that simply will not go away, ask your Sentinel for help; that is my advice. Most people will try to push their way past their Sentinel and try to force the change, only to be thwarted again at some point. The answer lies with talking to your Sentinel and negotiating a way forward together. As strange as it may seem, what is in the way is actually your way forward.
2. The Mountains of Self Worth program. I found that one reason why some people gets stuck in a negative way of thinking is that they are always comparing themselves unfavourably to others. For example, if you think your colleague is better than you, when it comes to promotion, you will somehow block yourself from taking that position instead of him/her. Or if you think you are unattractive or unworthy as a partner or lover compared to most of your friends or family, this belief may hold you back from having a happy relationship. Or you may feel anxious in social situations or when doing a presentation, comparing yourself unfavourably with others whom you see as better than you. By releasing this constant comparison, you can see yourself as you really are rather as a lesser-than kind of person. Then the lesser-than block will melt away and you can simply move forward to your success. After all, it is your path to success that you are treading, not the other people you compare yourself to. You are the only one that matters on this path, regardless of what they do on theirs. It is your path.
3. The third block is a very low level of self-love or self-acceptance, and sometimes a very low level of love and acceptance for others. I have found that when this is about 20% or lower, the person is thwarted in any effort of self-improvement, or that they get extremely slow progress. For example, someone who wants to lose weight but hates themselves often would overeat to fill the emotional void from lack of self-love. Or someone who wants to get the most out of their staff but finds them uncooperative may at a subconscious level not accept their staff, and they sense that and react accordingly. Someone who has bitterness in their heart to certain people may be subconsciously concentrating so much on this bitterness that they may have no energy left to propel themselves to their own success. The solution is to learn how to accept and/or send unconditional love healing energy. You can train yourself to channel love healing from the Universe all around you. This love is unconditional love, and by its definition it has no conditions. The only person blocking it would be you. But the good news is that you can train in how to let it in and how to channel it, or let it flow through you. Once you do, you will find it much easier to move forward to the success that your heart truly desires.

EFT Tapping - Using EFT to Get Out of a Stuck Place and Handle Emotionally Challenging Situations

Tuesday, January 18, 2011

By Elisabeth Kuhn
Ever find yourself stuck or in a challenging situation? It's important to change your mindset in order to get moving again, but that can be a challenge in itself. Fortunately, EFT can be a big help with getting to a better emotional (and physical) place.

You know that wallowing in your stuck situation isn't going to get you out. But what if you don't really know what to do? That's when you want to use EFT. Here are a few steps:

1) Just tap

If you're trying to deal with intense emotions, you can just start tapping. Feel free to either tap the various points, i.e., eyebrow, side of eye, under eye, under nose, chin, collarbone, under arm, and top of head.

Or, if you prefer, you can just keep tapping your collarbone.

After a while, you might feel that you want to do some more structured tapping. Or you can just start there right away.

2) Set-up

So you can tap on your karate chop point and repeat the following set up phrase (feel free to make adjustments as needed):

"Even though I feel stuck, I choose to feel confident that I'll know the next step when it's time to take it."

"Even though I feel very uncomfortable and scared, I choose to feel calm and confident.

"Even though I feel unsure about what to do, I choose to love and accept myself anyway.

3) Tapping the points

Next, start tapping the points, taking phrases from the above, and adding additional ones as needed. For example:

Negative statements

I feel stuck.I feel scared., I feel uncomfortable., I don't know what to do., I wish I knew what to do., I'm afraid of what might happen., And so on.,

Hopeful statements

Then, move on to somewhat more hopeful phrases, including some like these.

I prefer to get unstuck.I'm willing to let go of the fear., I can handle a certain level of discomfort., I prefer to let go of the discomfort., I am going to figure out what to do., I like the idea of what to do., I believe I can handle whatever might happen.,

And so on.

Positive statements

Finally, continue tapping, but now use positive statements:

I choose to feel calm and confident. The solution is coming to me., I am excited about tackling this challenge., Challenges are opportunities for growth., I'm feeling much calmer already., I choose to love and accept myself.,

After a couple of rounds of positive statements, just take a deep breath. Chances are that you're feeling better already. If not, repeat as needed, and make adjustments to reflect where you are in the process of overcoming that challenging situation.

The Need to Fix Our Self

Monday, January 17, 2011

By Noreen Barron
Needing or wanting to fix our self usually comes from a core belief that we are broken or that there is something wrong with us. We want to run away as fast as possible from the feeling this belief creates. The more we run and avoid the feeling, the more the feeling chases us. It can seem like we are never going to "get rid of it".

Why does it feel as if the feeling is chasing us? Because it has never been felt. It has not been felt because it was too painful, it was too much to cope with at the time and the necessary resources to feel that feeling were not there. So the feeling and experience remains suspended and frozen in time. Our bodies and minds will always look to regain equilibrium and one of the best ways to do that, is to feel that feeling. It can seem as if this feeling is following us around like a shadow, lurking in dark corners and that can scare us. But if we remember that the only reason it seems this way is because that feeling needs healing, it needs to be experienced, it can help us dissolve any fear we have about feeling the feeling. It may still be painful but we find the courage to feel it as we know this is where the solution lies.

Healing is not about fixing or "curing" anything. It is about remembering, or putting the pieces or members back together again, re-member. It's about being who you really are. The you that is underneath and covered by all the beliefs, all the thoughts, all the memories, all the events and all the emotions that you think define who you are. The thing is we identify with these beliefs which are usually limiting and critical. We believe we are these beliefs. We hold the false belief that what happens to us IS us.

Examine your beliefs and where they came from. Without evidence - events - we would not hold these beliefs. We can use EFT on the painful events and beliefs to dissolve them and feel free.

Letting Go With the Help of EFT

Sunday, January 16, 2011

By Noreen Barron
By letting it go it all gets done. The world is won by those who let it go. But when you try and try. The world is beyond the winning ~ Lao Tzu

Many of us fear letting go. What if we can't get it back? What if we end up alone? What if we end up being wrong and having to do it all over again? What if they get

away with it, again? What if we stop trying? What will happen then? You know you need to let go when you feel stuck, when you see the same patterns of behaviour repeating themselves over and over again in your life. One of the biggest obstacles we have and use for not letting go, is our attachment to a situation or person. We want a situation or person to be different than what it really is or was and very often this leads us down the road of denial. We resist what happened or what is happening now, and this resistance leads to a feeling of being stuck.

Using the analogy of eating; we ingest food and assimilate what we need and eliminate - let go, of what we don't need or what doesn't serve us any more. If we don't eliminate or let go of what we don't need, we become congested, constipated, full, heavy and laden down. The same thing happens with our experiences in life. Only we seem to have more difficulty in letting go of certain experiences, so we hold on and we keep holding on because sometimes we just don't know how to let go. Try the following EFT script for letting go, customise the set up statements and phrases to really help you tune in to how letting go relates to you and your life.

Tapping on the karate chop point or rubbing the sore spot continuously say the following set up statement, which prepares your energy system for tapping (please see my website for EFT shortcut diagram and procedure):

Even though the thoughts of letting go fill me with... I completely accept how I feel

Even though I don't want to let go because... I completely accept how I feel

Even though it is not safe to let go because... I love and accept myself anyway

TH I don't want to let go

EB I'm afraid

SE I can't

UE I'll be hurt again

UN I need my guard up

UC I have to remember

CB No I don't

UA Yes, I do

TH I don't know how to let go

EB And that's okay

SE No it's not

UE Yes, it is

UN I don't have to know right now

UC It's hard not to hold on for dear life

CB And that's okay

UA It's how I feel

TH Letting go feels...

EB And that makes me feel...

SE And that's okay

UE It's okay to feel that way

UN No, it's not

UC Yes, it is

CB I feel it anyway, so why pretend?

UA It's exhausting keeping it all in

TH I don't have to do that any more

EB But I don't know what else to do

SE That's okay

UE No, it's not

UN I'm stuck, I feel stuck

UC I feel stuck

CB I feel stuck

UA I feel this feeling...

Note and locate where in your body you feel this feeling and do a few rounds of tapping on that. If you do not have any bodily sensations, that's okay too, do more rounds on how you're feeling until you can say "I can let go" "It is safe to let go" "I give myself permission to let go" "I deserve to let go" and it feels true on a 0 to 10 scale, 10 being the most true and 0 being the most false.
